THOUGHTS & THANKS
As the year begins, I wonder what 2020 has in store for me, for us.
I can plan all I want and that in itself is comforting in some ways.
It does not, however, take into consideration the bumps
that will happen along the way.
2019 began nicely as usual with family and friends around us.
I left my job of 8 years in March to spend time with my hubby
whose health had been getting worse the past couple years. I did think I was retiring but that story is for another time.
We left in April for a long awaited vacation
taking 2 of my sisters kids with us;
enjoyed friends and family in San Diego, Murieta, Los Angeles,
Mission Viejo, Manteca, and Sacramento.
May 4, we celebrated a very special young lady's 10th birthday.
It was a good day.
Deciding we might as well explore Manteca, we extended our hotel stay.
And that's when it happened. He was coughing all night almost without a break. The next day he was moving very.... slowly...
May 8, I took him to ER at Kaiser Manteca where he was admitted.
Because heart specialists were needed for further care,
my hubby was transferred to Kaiser Modesto.
Between all of these moments, I stressed, prayed,
stressed more and prayed more.
What else could I do but leave things in God's hands
as I know I always should?
At the time, we were told he could not fly home because his heart was too weak and would not handle the long flight; over 10 hours...
we were scheduled to return home May 17 and finally
made it back on July 16.
Eventually, we made it home.
2019 was challenging...
For the graces we received, I thank you, Lord.
For the friends we met with and shared time, I thank you, Lord.
For family & friends to took us in during our time of need and
shared their lives with us, I thank you, Lord.
For the stranger who offered comfort while in the hospital, I thank you, Lord.
For the many times I wanted to break down and give up
but found strength to carry on, I thank you, Lord.
For the many family & friends who offered prayers and healing thoughts,
I thank you, Lord.
2020 I'm ready to face you one day at a time,
keeping my sweetest Jesus by my side at all times.
I am ready for you.
