Everyday Life is the Prayer

More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.
 - Alfred, Lord Tennyson

According to Simple Abundance, prayer is in everything we do... the daily grind is a prayer.  Some people know they pray.  Others are unsure if they do pray or even know how to pray.

In recent years, I've learned that each thing we do in our daily life is a prayer all its own.

"So seek me not in far-off places.  I am close at hand.
Your workbench, office, kitchen, these are altars where you offer love.
And I am with you there."
-Everyone's Way of the Cross

A beautiful reminder that even if you are not on your knees, you are praying.
Helping your kids with homework, doing your chores, doing your job well, and
housekeeping are all forms of prayer.
Offer everything to God & Spirit, in all you do.

"In its purest form, prayer is conversation.  Communion.  Connection.  Intimacy.  Prayer is the dialect of the Divinity, and is actually authentic conversation because you don't have to hold back."

Some years ago, I was surprised to learn that God can take our anger and outrage.  I can scream and ask why and even use some choice words and He would still love me and bless me with so many graces & gifts.  It took others to guide me to this point.  Anyone that knows me knows that vulgar language is not part of my daily language, no matter what's happening in my life.
But there is a rare occasion that I do use it however much I don't like it.

"Lifting up our voices in prayer is a good thing.  It is not good for us to be silent.
We need to get real life off our chests so we can get on with it."

"Women pray because we need to talk to Someone who's really listening."
-Simple Abundance

As a woman, I can relate to these quotes and appreciate them.
Thank you, Lord for every blessing.
Thank you Sarah Ban Breathnach for your wise words.
